Hi everyone! I wanted to let you know that I've decided to stop blogging for a while. Even though I only post once a week, it's become a chore and I'm not looking forward to it like before. My heart just isn't in it right now.
But I will visit you all and post comments so it's not like I'm dropping off the face of the earth! Hopefully, this Fall I will be able to get back into the blogging routine. I will leave you with a picture of my first two red tomatoes. They are nearly ripe and in a few days Steve and I will be able to try them!

Dear Alyssa,
My heart feels your heart. No worry. Do what you need to do and take a rest. Blogging...we put ourselves out there because we enjoy sharing but it sure does take a toll on our energy at times. It's summmer, the days are long and there is much to tend to. And, sometimes our lives take over and get in the way. I know...as it's been a rough summer for me and I've thought of breaking until October.
I take time to post three times a week but I just don't have it in me to visit many blogs anymore. And I'm tired, too.
I asked husband to pick up some home-grown tomatoes at a stand today. So, what does he bring me? Store-bought from Canada. It nearly put me over the edge... LOL! I sorely wanted a tomato on toasted bread with mayo salt and pepper.
I'll be checking on you.
Hugs,
Mary
Alyssa, Oh how I will miss your beautiful gardens! And of course you too. I do understand and know you have been dealing with a lot in your life-I have been keeping you in my thoughts. I wish I had some magic to make things all better or even some words of widom to offer. All I can say is I will miss you very much. As Mary says, take some time to rest, come visit once in a while to let us know how yoy are, and take good care of yourself. You are so important.

Enjoy your rest and your lovely garden this summer.
We all need a rest from those things that have become necessary routines.
Oh, those tomatoes look so good -- and I'll bet they have real honest to goodness flavor, too.
I surely know what you mean about wanting a rest from blogging. I've been trying to find a comfortable pace for myself for a long time and haven't really found a stride yet -- if there is one -- as many of life's variables come into play affecting my attitude and motivation for blogging.
Will stop by this Fall and see if you're back into blogging more. Enjoy yourself.
Alyssa, We all understand completely. I had to take time off last winter myself -- from September to February. It was enough to recharge my batteries as I'm sure it will be for you. I'll wait patiently and leave you on the reader so I'll be sure to know when you are ready to come back. We'll miss you.
I understand what you mean! I felt that way about other things, and though it hasn't happened yet I am sure that I could feel that way about blogging. Though, unlike you, I don't have a band of anxious followers waiting eagerly for me to post, and since I haven't ever had an actual posting schedual, I've never let it become a chore, so much as a feeling of, "Oh! I haven't blogged in a while, and since I have something in my head to say, I might as well!", you should try that sometime! It's really refreshing, and would make the experience much less chore-like!
I have finally moved into college, and I am now writing (well, typing) this at my dorm room desk! It is so exciting!!!
I just wanted to let you know that...and that I wrote another poem. This one isn't very good, but I guess that's why I put it up, becuase it isn't good, and because I want input.
I would very much love, and be grateful for any input and critique you have!
I hope you are well, and wish you beauty and happiness!!
Lizzie~
Just checking in, Alyssa. I took a two-week break away from the keyboard, completely. You know? I don't think it was enough. But I'm here to encourage you.
Mary
Stopping by to say hello and hoping you are happily enjoying the beginning of Fall!
